Deadline for Funding via Built Heritage Investment Scheme Looming

Deadline for Funding via Built Heritage Investment Scheme Looming

Posted 30/11/2015

On the 21 October 2015, the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht announced a new €2 million investment scheme for the repair and conservation of Protected Structures - the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.

The new fund replicates an earlier scheme which ran in 2014 and is designed to help fund relevant conservation and building projects across Ireland. There is no doubt that one of the anticipated benefits of the new scheme will be the creation of more jobs in building conservation and a transfer of skills to a new generation of craftsmen and women.

Owners of eligible protected structures who are thinking of applying for funding via the BHIS scheme need to get in touch with their local authority as soon as possible -  deadline for applications is the 7th December but some local authorities may have stipulated slightly earlier deadlines in order to sift through applications.
