The 2016 Desmond Guinness Research Scholarship Still Open

Posted 12/10/2016

The founder of the Irish Georgian Society, the Hon Desmond Guinness, has been instrumental in saving many important Irish buildings as well as championing Ireland's unique architectural heritage. The annual IGS scholarship, which takes his name, is open to applicants who are involved not just in architectural research but also to those who are researching Irish Arts or Crafts -  fields which have been so intrinsically intertwined with architecture and its stylistic development.

The Scholarship of €1000 could help extend or expand a research project and is open to researchers at home or abroad but there are some limitations. The scholarship is for research based within a specific time frame of 1600-1900. It is aimed at applicants who are either still studying or who have not yet reached an advanced level within their profession and the judges will be looking for original documentary research.

If you are interested in applying contact the Irish Georgian Society, applications must arrive by post before 2pm on 26 October 2016
